R10dreamer Posted July 19, 2009 Share #121 Posted July 19, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would have purchased 2 if they were in the D3X price range. I was saving and planning on it actually. Also, then would have purchased a 35mm and the 180 f2.8. But, that is a dead issue now. Looking at the Nikon D3X or D700 with all new Nikon glass. Advertisement Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 Hi R10dreamer, Take a look here Poll - Would you have bought an R10?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Guest Posto 6 Posted July 21, 2009 Share #122 Posted July 21, 2009 I would have bought one or two, and had actually recently expanded my R-lens collection in anticipation. I have no interest or intention of acting as a guinea-pig for Leica by getting an S2, which I find to be expensive, untested and having an uncertain future in the marketplace, even more so now in view of Leica's "commitment" to their existing users. Frankly, I am getting a bit tired of Leica Camera AG and their uncertain commitment to and capacity for a viable future, and will probably move to a more mainstream supplier in future for my digital requirements. I am certain that I will retain my film Leicas, which represent the apogee of this medium, but perhaps Leica had better develop more of an entrepreneurial spirit if they wish to find a niche. All we hear are excuses, and as consumers, we are supposed to be grateful that a company still exists calling itself Leica. The innovation, foresight, risk-taking spirit and cohesive structure present at the start of thge 1929 crisis in Ernst Leitz Wetzlar are nowhere to be found in today's rather mediocre, defensive and backward-looking Leica trademark licensee. SteveYork Posted July 22, 2009 Share #126 Posted July 22, 2009 A corollary poll should be how many people are leaving Leica now for another brand?
