andybarton Posted July 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Snowshill, Broadway, Worcestershire A three hour drive to get here, but having been twice before at not quite the right time of year, we made the effort yesterday. Only this time, there was a pretty dull sky... Always next year. Also gave me an opportunity to play with the D700, but I can't post anything from that until the Leitaxes come through. Advertisement Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Hi andybarton, Take a look here Lavender Farm. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Rolo Posted July 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 5, 2009 Also gave me an opportunity to play with the D700, but I can't post anything from that until the Leitaxes come through. As it should be .... but you can write and tell us how marvelous the D700 is and why you didn't wait for the S2e (R economy model). Also, how you prefer the files to the other digital cameras you have experience of (and only those). Nice pic, but bit heavy handed for the subtle tones of Pro 400H ? andybarton Posted July 5, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted July 5, 2009 It's how the Mrs likes it, so who am I to argue... I could do a "First weekend with more buttons and menu items than I can throw a stick at" post in the digital sub-section, I suppose. I'll put some more on Flickr. This is the scan, straight out of Jessops...
vdb Posted July 5, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 5, 2009 Very nice Andy. I can get drunk with the aroma of lavender. I first visited a lavender farm in northern New Mexico....the smell has stuck on me for ever:)
stuny Posted July 5, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 5, 2009 Andy - I prefer the "heavy hand", which adds to the drama and flow of the image. The undilations, depth, detail and color are terrific.
andybarton Posted July 5, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted July 5, 2009 Incredibly, there is no smell here at all. I imagined a really heady lavender smell, but there is none at all, unless you rub the blossom with your fingers. Great place, just outside one of the most popular tourist spots in the Cotswolds.
