poynterama Posted July 5, 2009 Share #1 Posted July 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) On the ferry back from Manly We later got well and truly drenched walking back to our hotel, surprisingly! (I hope the white balance is OK, I hit the 'auto' button in Lightroom for this one and it looks clearer on my, albeit uncalibrated, laptop)
Advertisement Posted July 5, 2009 Posted July 5, 2009 Hi poynterama, Take a look here Another maritime shot. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hoppyman Posted July 5, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 5, 2009 Cool dramatic clouds! You could probably go at least an EV lighter on most of the scene, leaving the clouds as is (graduated exposure adjustment).
poynterama Posted July 5, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted July 5, 2009 That seems easiest to do in Lightroom! Better?
stuny Posted July 5, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 5, 2009 I liked the original a lot. I like your second version more. Beautiful for composition, mood, light, color, depth and detail.
vdb Posted July 6, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 6, 2009 I actually like the darker mood of the original. Great light and colors and ominous mood.
hoppyman Posted July 6, 2009 Share #6 Posted July 6, 2009 I'm with Stuny on that. What makes it special is the light picking out the centre objects of interest too. Of course you can play with crops, there's always alternatives. The visible foam in foreground works as part of it for me though. Really nice shot, once again. I liked the original a lot. I like your second version more. Beautiful for composition, mood, light, color, depth and detail.
