bill Posted July 3, 2009 Share #21 Posted July 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have a couple of fine FF Ms without an LCD screen already. One of them is even completely battery-independent. I can get digital images out of them within the hour. I get a new sensor with every exposure too. Next? adanfueyo Posted July 3, 2009 Author Share #22 Posted July 3, 2009 Brainstorming.... Well, brainstorming is a technical used in creativity meetings in order to get new and fresh ideas about the same problems. This technical consist in starting with a situation, problem, or whatever you want.... propose new and, may be sometimes, crazy ideas in order to find a solution. One of the rules of this meetings is, nobody can say anything too serious about the ideas of the rest of the people of the meeting, because the main objective of this meetings is find something new. The first crazy ideas that people aid, increase with new comments of the rest and step by step could be possible with the collaboration of all the people of the group find new solutions or new functions for a product, problem or the item on study. The only thing that I want to say is .... When I started this thread, I only wanted to get some new & fresh ideas about the possibility that a New M9 without LCD screen will be possible, but I could have said for example that the New M9 would have autofocus, when never in the history of the M's this exist.....I only wanted to start a brainstormig meeting in this thread and not a stupid or ridiculous thing.... In my job position in a R&D Center in a multinational company, that have factories in more that 57 countries, we usually plan brainstorming meetings and anybody says your idea is not good, they only say their own ideas and after everybody talked, is the group with the mix of all the ideas who takes the decission of choose one idea o some of then and develop them. Sorry for the inconveniences of the thread with this crazy idea. I enjoyed a lot reading the post....
bill Posted July 3, 2009 Share #23 Posted July 3, 2009 adanfueyo, We have lost count of the number of threads that start like yours. There is a certain level of cynical weariness, to say the least, that results in the sort of responses you have got so far. If you want to "play a game" like brainstorming, then it is a good idea to set the rules before you invite contributions from the floor, and maybe start from a stronger premise? offshore Posted July 3, 2009 Share #25 Posted July 3, 2009 Well if you ask me about what I'd like that the future M9 have? Probably I will say that I would like a M9 like my M4-P, or any M that I know. ... that has no buttons or rear LCD screen, that retains the rear wheel to control the ISO and ... lever and having to take the picture had to operate ..... This is too much, but the screen would give more space to put FF without having to increase the thickness of the camera and add a touch of analog and no photos to look after "develop" digital .. .. What do you think? I didn't ask.

john_newell Posted July 3, 2009 Share #27 Posted July 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would like the M9 to have a default wooden tripod, a large black cover on the back and a long orange bellows shutter. The magnesium hand-held device for the flash light could even be a nice feature. I was actually hoping that we'd be able to spread an emulsion on the LCD panel and develop an analogue image. epand56 Posted July 3, 2009 Share #28 Posted July 3, 2009 I was actually hoping that we'd be able to spread an emulsion on the LCD panel and develop an analogue image. Oh yes, that would definitely make a great gadget out of an M9

john_newell Posted July 3, 2009 Share #30 Posted July 3, 2009 On a slightly more serious and on-topic note, I owned an RD-1 and the articulated (flip-out) screen scared the daylights out of me. I guess it's supposed to be a wonderful feature on cams like the D5000. I agree that LCDs are at least a must-have for menu purposes and probably a very useful tool for things like histogram review (I like the "info" display on the M8), but as far as swing-out, I am a chicken and a clumsy one at that... lct Posted July 4, 2009 Share #31 Posted July 4, 2009 ....Sorry for the inconveniences of the thread with this crazy idea... Not that crazy i feel. If you're like me you don't like much this LCD thing i guess. I don't use it during shootings and i even don't see it at all then as it is reversible. My DRFs are not Leicas though (Epson R-D1 & R-D1s).
ljclark Posted July 4, 2009 Share #32 Posted July 4, 2009 I often find myself trying to look at the backplate of my M6 after taking pictures with it. To my disapointment it doesn't tell me anything other than the ISO-setting which I sat myself. Guess I have been digital to long :-) Kinda like looking at the FM radio in the car to see what song is playing, and realizing that it ISN'T the XM. Perhaps find some sheet film holders, press them firmly against the LCD, and whip the darkslide out and in quickly?
Nicoleica Posted July 4, 2009 Share #34 Posted July 4, 2009 Perhaps find some sheet film holders, press them firmly against the LCD, and whip the darkslide out and in quickly? pop Posted July 4, 2009 Share #36 Posted July 4, 2009 Couldn't somebody make a Polaroid back that would fit the LCD screen? What's wrong with just taking a Polaroid picture of the screen?
