Advertisement Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 Hi redpigeons, Take a look here Long time pentax - want to get a leica. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Walt Calahan Posted July 2, 2009 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2009 This is a pretty good site to ask your questions. Best place to start is to get your hands on a Leica to learn if you even like working with one.
scaryink Posted July 2, 2009 Share #3 Posted July 2, 2009 If you mean a digital M, this place is a good place to begin wading through. For film, I think APUG is great.
Bill W Posted July 3, 2009 Share #4 Posted July 3, 2009 I would ask what kind of photography interest you? A rangefinder is not the best choice for fast action sports photography or any situation where you will need to focus quickly. If you are new to rangefinder like you say, you should rent one or borrow one and try it out first. If you are into great glass, the M8 is a superb life support system for the array of fine M lens. I have used Leica camera equipment for over 30 years and love the results.
JLV Posted July 3, 2009 Share #5 Posted July 3, 2009 Bill, I visited your site and loved your pictures. The Maine fishermen's village gives such a peacefull feeling that you wish to spend time there for recovering from work, reading, playing chess , wandering around..and cultivating our passion: photography. The Colorado series is just stunning and breathtaking. The oxygen burns your lungs just looking at the pictures. Congatulations, fantastic work and thank you very much for sharing. (Its 8.30 am in France, I am in my office since 6.45 and this little break gave me a lot of energy on this end of the week.) All the best, Jean-Luc
