...checked video - portion of it...

"vimeo" - not the greatest...today it is possible to enjoy video with great quality and full glorious stereo sound over even very humble dsl connections...but not vimeo - it does not qualify - so my question would be - why on earth choose a technology that is so far from "optimal" when better is available?

I see one poster could not watch at all- well, I can watch it- and hear sound (which was good) but both video and sound will stutter- so technically it's 90% "there" - it needs to be 100% "there"...

The best or most impressive video over web I have ever experienced came from....Russia..! Oh yeah...if you care about your audiences' viewing experience, you'd do something about this...

Or - you could ignore my post here completely and do what feels best for you.

Hello,

Nobody reacting to the statement that there will be no R10, despite earlier optimistic and positive statements from Leica to the contrary.? It may be a realistic decision but to me it sounds like Leica has no longer so much confidence in their own future as they expressed earlier. Times are difficult for many a business and Leica may be struggling desparately to survive. But for a long time leicaflex SL & leica R user this is sad news. Hope that at least the company survives.

This has been discussed at length elsewhere on the forum. My personal opinion is that in the current economic climate they couldn't hope to sell enough bodies to make the project worthwhile.

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for creating this and posting this, Andreas, it was very interesting for those of us who really wanted to be there but <sigh> other commitments got in the way.

FWIW, Vimeo produced much better quality than YouTube for me.

Pete.
