FastFashnReloaded Posted November 10, 2006 Share #41 Posted November 10, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) >>. You whiners have no concept, NO CONCEPT, of how difficult that kind of design is. Yes I do, thats why I didn't do it myself. I left it to a camera company... >>YOU design something like this that'll work first thing, under pressure, in a company that's got financial pressures, staying up late nights and lots of weekends. >> You have no concept of how the world works outside of your Club. You can't fix a car, you can't program anything but maybe HTML, you don't even know how to use the defragger in Windows, do you? This is a pretty broad generalisation, and besides which I suspect most of the members here are MAC users, so a nice little cron job runs the defrag whilst we are out at work, earning a living or enjoying our lives (something you ought to consider aquiring) >>So please, just be quiet and give the people who actually do the work at Leica a chance to fix this glitch, or DO go buy a Canon G7 and go away. Communication is the key to a succesful relationship, lets tell the people who actually do the work at Leica what needs fixing, as it would seem they didnt spot it themselves... I suspect they didn't spot it themselves because it wasn't a problem seen in the prototypes. That's why I think the fix will be fairly simple. Now, it may be that Kodak changed something in the sensor at the last moment, or an incorrect resistor was put into the pick and place machines so a bunch of pc boards were incorrectly stuffed and some of the cameras will have to go back, but it will be fixed. I have a Mac. Currently I have a dual 2GHz G5 tower, waiting on Apple to come out with a red powerbook or iMac. As far as most of the users on here having Macs, I doubt it. I remember quite a few posts on the old boards making fun of Mac users... Got a life. In quite a bit of pain right now because of bad American drivers who don't see anything smaller than an SUV while they are on their cell phones, and that has indeed made me cranky. Hey, you in your lousy gas guzzling SUVs! Look DOWN and notice that you are about to run over a sports car, or a cyclist! Get off your cell phones! Yes, quite grumpy. Advertisement Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Hi FastFashnReloaded, Take a look here M8: some good news. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tom0511 Posted November 10, 2006 Share #42 Posted November 10, 2006 Its a lovely idea...All that white paper and just a tiny little blob of problems.... I felt so good about that notion, I decided to use the M8 at a Wedding this weekend... I have also added the following to an email I just sent to a couple of Wedding Clients. Because I am fortunate enough to be one of very few UK photoraphers now using one of the latest, most expensive, and superb digital cameras that money can buy from LEICA please can you ask your guests to refrain from wearing dark coloured synthetic clothes at your Wedding. Many thanks. Why dont you guys get one of these filters (or2 or 3) and use them as a (tempory?) solution? If the camera otherwise gives great results, why not just do this. If you count the hours some people spend here complaining about the problem they probably could have easily earned the money for getting 3 filters during this time. I dont think its great that we have to do it, but if it works, why not? Just because we are stuburn and say no, Leica should have and I should not have to and therefore....... I rather wait for the M9 and let my 10 Leica M lenses sit in the shelve for another 5 years? Or before using a M8 with a filter I rather use a different camera without filter, even though the M8 with filter might give me more detailed images? gabbott4 Posted November 10, 2006 Share #43 Posted November 10, 2006 They are telling you how to adjust to compensate, so you can at least use it till they have a good fix. That isn't absurd, it's reasonable. And by the way, where has this dusty old story of yours been hiding, just WAITING for a chance to leap out and strangle someone? Next time you quote Groucho Marx or someone, please credit them in your post. Women should be obscene and not heard. - Groucho Marx Had I known Groucho told it, I would certainly have given him credit.
