TonySx Posted June 17, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 17, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bought a Panasonic DMW-LC69 close-up filter. First shot - quite literally, straight out of the camera - no processing at all. Colour seems good and there's a lot more out-of-focus than without the filter. Overgaard Posted June 18, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 18, 2009 Will be interesting to see more. There seem to be some blue fringing. But more, please. More!
jaapv Posted June 18, 2009 Share #3 Posted June 18, 2009 It would be nice if somebody could compare the Leica, Panasonic and Canon 500D macro lenses. I have the impression the Canon is best followed by Leica and by a minimal margin the Panasonic, but I would like to see objective proof.

John Thawley Posted June 18, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 18, 2009 Then again, this one is just the Digilux 2 in Macro mode. Granted this is a 4" blossom while the one about is probably a 2" blossom. TonySx Posted June 18, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted June 18, 2009 Hand-held, Jpegs straight from the camera with no processing. These are strictly test shots for my benefit so please excuse the subject matter and lack of focus. Note the grid my wife's earrings are hanging on are 1 1/4" square. jrethorst Posted June 23, 2009 Share #7 Posted June 23, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Will be interesting to see more. There seem to be some blue fringing. But more, please. More! Here are several with the Panasonic macro lens. Most were taken with the camera's focus setting at AF Macro, but some set at AF. Sorry I'm new at uploading here, and could not get the last five to post right-side up. Welcome, dear visitor! jrethorst Posted June 24, 2009 Share #8 Posted June 24, 2009 Macro samples should include flowers, so here's one. BTW this shot and the ones in my preceding post were all taken at jpeg highest quality, no PP except reduced in file size (using Apple Preview) to post. Welcome, dear visitor! BMJ Posted June 26, 2009 Share #9 Posted June 26, 2009 Hi Here is one I did without macro lens, but I am curious to see how close you can get with the macro lens, please keep posting. Another question, can the lens be used to create narrow DOF for portraits etc.? Have a nice weekend Welcome, dear visitor! TonySx Posted June 29, 2009 Author Share #10 Posted June 29, 2009 Had a bit of a nasty accident this weekend and the Digilux 2 hit the ground hard... Some nasty scratches to the top plate ( and to me...) but it looks like it's still working although it is reluctant to show any green dot to indicate focus. This with the DMW-LC69 close-up filter. Distance was about 4" to the front petals. Again, no PP and excuse the focus - no green dot and my hands don't work very well at the moment. From the 'vertical edge' within the blossom on the left to the right edge of the 'white pointy bit' is 2 1/4". ......................................<------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
