Pecole Posted June 7, 2009 Share #2 Posted June 7, 2009 He guys. I am just curious what this is? Leica Pryl. på Tradera. Tillbehör | Samlar, äldre | Analoga kameror | This is an OSBLO, dating around 1954. This bakelite eyepiece screwed on the back of a 50 or 90 mm lens, to convert it into a Galilean telescope. Magnification was 3.5x for the 50 mm and 6x for the 90 mm. Today, the telescope ocular TO-R follows the same idea for R lenses.

luigi bertolotti Posted June 8, 2009 Share #4 Posted June 8, 2009 Yes, fun gadget, but no more... ... I have one and its usefulness is questionable, apart this, is one of the few Leitz accessories that has a "cheap" look (rough plastic, a simple meniscus lens...) : I acquired it years ago for the equivalent of today's 25-30 Euros or so... doesn't worth more. bill Posted June 8, 2009 Share #5 Posted June 8, 2009 I had one for a couple of months and sold it on. I echo Luigi's comments. It could have been very useful, but the image was so dim, and lacking in contrast that it was like looking down a pop bottle. I carry, and have done for years, a Minox monocular. About the size of a Swiss Army Knife (mine lives in a pouch designed for one) It's a beautifully-made item that is ideal for "What's that over there?" scouting when travelling, and for reading departure boards from the coffee bar.
