ejd Posted June 7, 2009 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have an older type of macro elmarit r 60mm, product no 11205 according to Jonathan Eastland's book, and apparently there is a lens hood for it, product no 12514, which also holds the series 8 fliters that the lens takes. I've never come across one of these hoods, maybe because few were ever sold, as the front elent of the lens is already so deeply recessed that the hood is not needed -- unless you use a filter on the lens. I have one and only recently started using it,so forgive my presumptuousness. if you are concerned about protecting the front element of the lens, then forget it as you will be aware that it is so recessed that you really have to be unlucky. If on the other hand it's for completing a collection or using a filter then yes you need this item. I got by for months with what is by far my favourite lens without it.
