trampsymphony Posted June 5, 2009 Share #1 Â Posted June 5, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Leica D 14-50mm kit lens that came with my Digilux 3 has just died. The zoom ring is stuck and will not turn past 21mm, and from some searching online this seems to be a common problem. However, the lens is now out of warranty, so I need to get it repaired affordably. Â Does anyone know a shop/person who could do this repair? From anecdotal evidence, it seems that Solms will be too expensive to be worth it. Â Thanks so much!! Â -mark

Anyway they are the ones who can give you either an answer on the warranty or an estimate for the repair, which could be less than you expect. If you do not ask you will never know ...  As a last option, if the cost is not worth the repair, you could look for an used L1 with the lens, they go for fairly low prices nowadays, and maybe drop back the body alone on eBay or similar.  Just my 2 (euro)cent of course, and ... best of luck.
