vla Posted June 1, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted June 1, 2009 virgil, paul, thank you! lobo is great - we're having a great time together! i, too, like #1, especially since lobo's nico' movements are nicely aligned. enclosed one more shot from yesterday - not that dynamic, but i like the expression in lobo's eyes - he is just fascinated by anything that looks like a ball or a stick ... markus

vla Posted June 3, 2009 Author Share #6 Posted June 3, 2009 paul - thank you. to me it's fascinating to see lobo's behavior evolve. he's showing all the classic GSD traits - very gentle with family members, very protective of our kids and very distrustful of strangers. today a woman wanted to walk through our garden (we had forgotten to close the driveway door). lobo approached the person, stopped one meter in front of her and started to bark (which he rarely does). he did not growl or attack, but just stood there and did not let her go on. the fascinating thing is - we never trained him to behave like that, it just comes naturally. good night ... markus
leicanut2 Posted June 4, 2009 Share #7 Posted June 4, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Those are good, reminds me of when my son was around 9 he was playing fetch with my german shepard with a tenis ball. Dog went to grab the ball and well my son was holding it a little to low dog got 2 balls that time. Son was ok , dog got scared to death when he screamed. I think the stick picture is what made me think of that. Cheers Jan
