Advertisement Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 Hi earleygallery, Take a look here How to tell my wife.... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
bill Posted June 1, 2009 Share #42 Posted June 1, 2009 Perhaps we should offer a Forum alibi service... "I couldn't have bought it last week, Darling - I was out with XXXXXXXXXX from the Leica Forum." "No, Darling, I haven't bought it, I borrowed it indefinitely from YYYYYYYYY from the Leica Forum." etc... Regards, Bill
Guest darkstar2004 Posted June 1, 2009 Share #43 Posted June 1, 2009 I will not stress too much that it is used as it is like new and still holds one year Leica guarantee. But I am very sure that I did better than Spitzer who wasted more money for few hours fun only. Regards Steve Sire, ye are a wise and discerning man. A used M7 beats a used whore any day. Guest darkstar2004 Posted June 1, 2009 Share #44 Posted June 1, 2009 Right, Andy. But I do not like tyrannies of any kind. And marriage can be just that. Takes a rare woman to let a guy breathe, and vice versa. Rare - and wise. And one who wants to stay married (and vice versa).
Photon42 Posted June 2, 2009 Share #45 Posted June 2, 2009 [...]But for unknown reasons I got attracted by other daughters [...] Well - I can clearly go worse Good luck with your M7, BTW Cheers Ivo
Michael Hiles Posted June 2, 2009 Share #46 Posted June 2, 2009 Tell her you actually bought it for her so you could spend more time with her out in the field taking pictures. Even promise to let her use some of your lenses.... Then, when you regain consiousness...
jevidon Posted June 3, 2009 Share #47 Posted June 3, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Do what I did. Just use the camera like it has always been there and when she finally notices (wives are notorious for not noticing camera equipment) just tell her "oh, I've had that for quite a while." By the time she asks, you will not be lying. Since you already had the M8, and the new one looks very close, it will probably work. It did for me. Spiking Posted June 5, 2009 Share #49 Posted June 5, 2009 If your wife is not into Leica too much, she won't notice a difference between your M8 and your M7. Just use it! My girlfriend is not aware of differences between Barnack O series (black) and Leica III (silver) or Leica MP (silver) and Leica M4 (black). Girls care about other things, not our cameras. Of course, new lenses are even easier to integrate.
Steve Ash Posted June 6, 2009 Author Share #50 Posted June 6, 2009 This story has come to a happy end regarding my wife. But now I fear that the lower class member of our family might lay claim to my gear. Are there any qualified lawyers around in case I might face a lawsuit? Regards Steve Welcome, dear visitor! pop Posted June 6, 2009 Share #51 Posted June 6, 2009 lower class member of our family Abandon all hope. Apologise at once. Enter negotiations. You will recover your implement yet, if you put yourself to the task. You may want to see our neighbor's cat.
