FastFashnReloaded Posted November 6, 2006 Share #61 Posted November 6, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been reading the banding/blooming/ghosting/noise/AWB/color accuracy posts with interest. Some have expressed very legitimate concerns about the M8's performance, but I'm having a difficult time discerning if these problems are prevalent in all M8's delivered so far; are "fixable" by firmware updates (as opposed to a complete sensor replacement) - or even if most early users consider them to be "deal killers". I'm supposed to pick mine up at my dealer tommorow. I know the final decision will be mine and will take into account how I plan to use the camera (I have a 5D for the REALLY low light stuff), but I'm interested in what others are deciding as well. No, I but am, as usual, questioning switching to this digital cr__ from film. Oh well. Ad astra per aspera. johnll Posted November 7, 2006 Share #63 Posted November 7, 2006 Well, I was definitely planning to order one, but I'm in a holding pattern until these things are resolved: banding, green blobs, 8-bit clarification.
jaapv Posted November 7, 2006 Share #64 Posted November 7, 2006 I will take anyones place in line waiting. Not mine, Guy - the phrase cold dead hands comes to mind On a serious note, I understand professional users being worried, but as a hobby photographer I think I'm perfectly placed to sit out the tempest.... Guest guy_mancuso Posted November 7, 2006 Share #66 Posted November 7, 2006 Yea I have a lot of blood to drain. Honestly all of these issues i can fix in post, I am a bit surprised at the magenta cast issue and no one picked this up before. A magenta cast even on a LCD is pretty obvious. Seriously leica should have sent me this camera months ago. Still looking to buy one or more though.
Samir Jahjah Posted November 7, 2006 Share #67 Posted November 7, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) I delayed my purchased to the second batch, which should ship in about 3 weeks according to my dealer. If the issues have not been fixed then, I will stick with my M6 and M7 for a while. I do as much indoor as outdoor photography!
