In the Audi showroom on park Avenue. I doubt it's a demo.

You could always ask. It would certainly slide by any NYC noise ordinances. You can barely hear that thing coming. LOL

Good to see them drag the old girl out of mothballs. They're all about the R15 now. How quickly they forget. I loved the looks of this car.

Thanks, gents. I visited again (more photos coming) when they were open and they said that McNish's statement is typical of him, he's so funny. I also asked why there was no R15, and they said it's needed on the track.

Ah, but it's a true statement. I shot the test when they rolled the R10 out for the first time. I'm telling you, you can not hear the car coming. And, when it goes through and apex, you'll hear a slight tire squelch... but on the straights and approaching a turn, all you hear is tire slap on the pavement. We rely on hearing a lot... shooting blind corners or hill crests... it's all to often you'll miss the Audis.

That's not to say Alan is not a funny guy. In fact, he, Kristensen and Cappelo are a riot. I spent time with them two nights in a row.. hanging out at Starbucks in Sebring this year. Great fun. Of course, the ultimate prankster is Emanuele Pirro. LOL

Meanwhile... I love the R10.

John -

Very amusing. I'll bet because of all your hours at tracks you have an endless supply of colorful and amusing stories and observations.

There are just enough "regulars" to create the atmosphere of a traveling circus so it does become sort of a family. I think I'm nearing 70 or so consecutive American Le Mans races... including winter test sessions. It is fun.
