Here's a story of two spanish brothers arrested for taking pictures of Buckingham Palace.

Speaking of terrorism, enjoy this video about the 82,000,000 terrorists in Germany and how the surveillance has kept them from committing any acts of terrorism ;-)

Words can't quite cover the absolute disdain/contempt I have for the over zealous idiotic 'anti-terror' policing in the UK at times. I guess the details of the Spanish tourist's picture taking probably needs to be better understood for true context but the overall thoughtless application of police powers really is something else and well documented.

Don't these people realize that real terrorists probably have the blueprints and other much more interesting information already ... Sheesh ...

(One of the less endearing aspects of the UK I don't miss after 14 years! - although that's not to say the same stupidity doesn't happen here in the US either though.)

As regards Du Bist Terrorist ...:mad: which I think totally sums up the true view of the 'state' these days and good for someone putting out an advert like that.

Oops, damn, now I'm probably on a watch list ...

MCMLXXXIV

I do believe political correctness has gone mad here in the UK we are really living in a nanny state

Of course you can always rely on the government to maintain the high moral ground on this issue too ... being such an upstanding honest and trustworthy bunch :D

Probably time for this to move to Barnack's Bar me thinks.

My, things have changed. Only 4/5 years ago on the Queens birthday, there were thousands of people outside the Palace gates. I was right up in front snapping all the action with clear views of the whole family as they came to the balcony to show their royal paws to the crowd as the red arrows and concorde flew over.

The spanish brothers were raking pictures of the walls which somebody thought seamed strange why they sent in the anti-terror team.

What happened to politely asking "why are you shooting the walls?"

They could be architects, carpenters, photographers with a taste for tonality and shadows, or whatever.

But it does tell you what the state of mind is when the first 'answer' you come up with to your own question 'what are they doing' is that they must most certainly be terrorists why we send the terrorist team to arrest them.

Well, maybe they asked them who are you and they answered tourists in spanish-english, and it came over as terrorists. And bang, arrest them!

Erwin could get room and board while writing :D (would have to shoot indoor walls then, but that should be ok)

Anyways, I'm thinking of doing a "terrorist photo project" in London in October. Last time I was there I made sure to shoot a lot in the tube (and had no problem whatsoever).

I'm thinking of a fashion/trend photo series of fashionable dressed terrorists/tourists shooting walls, surveillance cameras, policemen, etc.

Just make sure you have a good human rights lawyer primed and ready! :D

I was intrigued by the fact that Buckingham Palace is visible tack-sharp in Google Earth and Google Maps, the NL royal family palaces are camouflaged out:
