marmelade Posted May 20, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2009 hello, have not tried this one but know it exists. UK-GERMANY - UK-LX3 Underwater housing , http://www.uk-germany.com/ This one is supposed to fit the D-Lux 4 aswell. Seems like robust, and fully operatable underwater housing. Or else you have the 5 meter options like aquapac/dicapac etc good resources digideep.com/digifish.nl Let us know if you try it out! best wishes,

stuny Posted May 20, 2009 Share #4 Posted May 20, 2009 Panasonic has a number of enclosures for their versions of compact cameras, and perhaps they have one for their version of the D-Lux-4. If you plan to use it for SCUBA you must have an external flash, synchronized via a fiber optic cable to the built in flash. This is because water absorbs all the longer lightwaves very quickly, leaving you with very blue pictures. It's also quite dark as you descend. You also need to get very good at perfectly sealing the enclosure, which involves the tiniest amount of silocone grease -- Any larger amounts or slight irregularities will leak under pressure, destroying your camera. You can see many PanaC-Lux Scuba photos on our site in the Borneo and the Papua New Guinea photo galleries.
corrado&rina Posted May 21, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted May 21, 2009 Thanks for the useful answers. Marmelade: The http://www.uk-germany.com link does not seem to be working (only the front page of the website is available). Do you have a telephone number, by any chance?
