  1. I'm hoping to start a single thread of people showing off their Leica Q's to see how others like to carry it, kind of accessories have been added, what to consider and not to consider. So show off your precious Q here! This is a Silver Q with the Arte Di Mano half case + battery door in Minerva Black, Rock n Roll M10 Limited Edition strap, and Molong tempered glass screen protector.
  2. Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. I just recently picked up a lot of Leicas from a nice lady in the mid west, and was extremely happy to find an early 12522 hood for the first version 35mm summilux steel rim. The inscription on it is 12522 H 1:1.4/35. I've only seen the variations inscribed OLLUX and 12522 part numbers, but never one with an H at the end. It looks like the OLLUX and regular 12522s with the oval sides and flat top and bottom. The hood part is a slightly lighter gray color than the black mounting rim. Any one have any info on this? I can;t seem to find any anywhere. Thanks so much!
  3. Hi all, this is my first post, and I am glad to have found this community. I am rather new to the leica world and I would appreciate some help on this simple issue: I was looking all over the web for a handgrip for my m6TTL, and I have found only one that I find acceptable in terms of looks and shape, but unfortunately I was unable to find any information on where it can be obtained or even who the manufacturer is. The handgrip I am talking about is this one. any hints? thanks a lot in advance, raimund
  4. I posted already on the german forum section but maybe here is more response. I use the D-Lux 5 and I know Panasonic is supporting more supplements for the LX-5, e.g. Lens adaptor. I am interested using a Polfilter. But Leica told me they do not support that accessories because there can be inner-reflections when using the lens adaptor with a filter. Does anyone have experience using that equipment on a D-Lux 5 or D-Lux 4? Or on a Panasonic LX-3/5? Some comments would be fine. Or is there-alternatively- another possibility to mount a polfilter? I heard about some filters which can be plugged on the camera tubus directly (only when the cam is switched on, of course)? With a kind of rubber adaptor? I never see that before. Any ideas?
  5. I'm about to spring for the D-Lux 5. Big money, with little left for accessories. What items should I concentrate on ordering along with the initial purchase of camera? I'm thinking extra DLux5 battery, 8MB Sandisk Extreme Class10 card, optical glass LCD protector and perhaps a Hoodman LCD viewer. Cannot afford a leather case. Whew! this stuff adds up!
  6. Just wanted to share a find I'd made recently. When I travel, I'll sometimes pack away my Domke bag in a checked suitcase since they mash down pretty well. I'll then bring my M10 and a few lenses in my carry on backpack with my laptop, headphones, etc.. (which is not a photography backpack). I'd been looking for a good padded 'sleeve' for the M10 for a while, and finally found one on Amazon. It fits even with the thumb grip attached. All for $8 USD. This is the product link https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XJMM65D and the full product description since I'm sure the URL will change for someone reading this years from now.. "LENTION Storage Pouch Bag Case for Accessories (Laptop Power Adapter, Wireless Mouse, Phone Charger, Cellphone, Power Bank, Travel Cable Organizer) - Dark Gray". Attaching some images so you can see how well this fits (thumb grip is attached in these photos).
  7. When a web site like Bhphotovideo.com or Adorama.com sell Leica products like: leather cases, thumb support or a Leica wrist strap. The site claims all these items are compatible for a Leica M10. If I purchase an M10-P will all of these items still fit the M10-P? Nothing on these large consumer sites have anything marketed to the M10-P. So will these products fit the M10-P? thanks, Robert
  8. Hi, which accessories from previous SL cameras are compatible with the new SL2-s? In particular I am looking for a thumbs-up and an L-bracket, do you have recommendations? The L-bracket should be simple, small and easy to attach/detach. Thank you
  9. Regrettably RG Lewis, a Leica Premier dealership in London has closed its doors after more than 100 years of trading because its proprietor is retiring. I was in Croydon Photo Centre yesterday (formerly called High Street Radio and Photographic), which is a family business owned by 84 year old Reg Roach and has specialised in Leica and Roberts radio products for over 50 years. Reg's son Paul showed me a large amount of Leica accessories (hoods, filters, caps, Visoflexs, adaptors etc) that Len at RG Lewis had passed on to the shop when he shut the doors at RG Lewis. Croydon Photo Centre already offers a wide range of classic Leica goods but Paul told me that it will take some time to load all of the former RG Lewis accessories onto his website. He told me that if anyone is looking for Leica accessories then please contact the shop by email or telephone on the weblink above. Paul's very happy to talk to people over the phone or if you happen to be in the area on a day that the shop is open (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays) then call in for a chat and a rummage. (For full disclosure I have no connection to Croydon Photo Centre or its goods other than to have been a satisfied customer over the years who enjoys the 'days gone by' feel of the shop with shelves stacked high with all sorts of goods and hidden gems and drawers filled with more and staff who know their products well who are happy to spend time talking to you. I have only posted this message as a service to other forum members who may be or may have been looking for a particular for some time.) For those who know Reg he unfortunately fell and broke his hip recently so he's in hospital at the moment but is in constant contact with Paul by phone as I witnessed while Paul was looking for an IROOA for my Rigid Summicron, which he successfully found with Reg's telephonic guidance. Pete.
  10. The only item that has attracted my attention in the launch of the new TL system is the EVF Visoflex Type 020 and I believe that the Leica M system deserves an updated version of its EVF with higher resolution, sensor for the eye (to switch it on/off), a tilt and swivel movement for more convenience....so Leica I hope this one is coming Your thoughts / input please...
  11. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has come across a Leica SL half case worth sharing. I got used to them since the M8, and kind of miss it now in the SL, although never before I used them in any of my SLRs. I have not found anything yet. I heard Arte Di Mano is developing one, and I would guess others are too. Thanks so much. m.
  12. Hi I am thrilled today to have received my first ever Leica. Currently selling all my Canon gear on eBay to pay for my second hand M-E with 35mm Summicron. Taken about 10 photos before work and I love it already. I'm finding it impossible though to find out when grip accessory works with the M-E that I can use the hand loop on. I plan to get back into Macro with the 90mm f4.0 one day and possibly the 21mm Super Elmar. Can anyone shed any light for me please? Any other accessories you'd recommend would be appreciated too. Alex
  13. We are having problems in finding an underwater housing for our D-Lux 4. Anyone who has found a reliable one out there in the wild? Best, Corrado & Rina
