Advertisement Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Hi marcell, Take a look here Film and Camera equipment on Bali. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
NZDavid Posted May 14, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 14, 2009 Sorry, don't know a place but I'd definitely recommend buying slide film before you go for the following reasons: 1) It might be MORE expensive in Bali. 2) Range might be more limited. 3) Age and condition of film stock uncertain unless you buy at a pro store. 3) You will spend your time scouting around for film instead of enjoying yourself and taking pictures. stuny Posted May 14, 2009 Share #3 Posted May 14, 2009 Marcel - Generally, I agree with David. When we visited Indonesia (Bali included) I don't recall seeing film for sale (I wasn't looking since I packed about 100 rolls of 36 exposure to bring along) except within the different Aman resorts, which no doubt have up to date film that is adequately stored. However, it is probably expensive, and who knows if slide film is part of their stock? You could contact them by email to check stock and prices. BobPS Posted May 15, 2009 Share #5 Posted May 15, 2009 I don't shoot slide film, but what I gather from other photogs and several labs here, slide film is difficult to find here in Jakarta and there's only one lab here that still processes slide. I guess it won't be different in Bali. Print films are easy to find though. At least here in Jakarta, Fuji photo labs still sell color films but limited to Superia only (iso 400 is the fastest you can get), and not expensive about US$ 2.5 per roll. B&W are harder to find, they're only availalbe in certain places/lab. Fortunatelly the photo lab I go to usually has B&W in stock. They're out of stock last night when I went there but they have new stock coming this saturday. T max 100 is about $4 and t max 400 is about $4.5. Oh, cost to develop is about $2 per roll and $2.5 to scan the result or print that's at my lab, the Fuji lab is about $2 more expensive. Bob

jaapv Posted May 15, 2009 Share #8 Posted May 15, 2009 From Aus? They dont even know what film is at the airports:eek:. Maybe we are spoilt here. If I fly out and need anything - not just photographic, but any goods that are cheaper in the taxfree, I order it some weeks before.

But is was fun anyway a had enough negativ film with me, so many pictures were made. Thanks everyone Marcel
