marknorton Posted November 3, 2006 Share #10 Posted November 3, 2006 That's the black book in the silver folder. And, if you don't understand it, it's because you're trying to read the German part, LOL. The English manual is at the back. Apart from the lack of direct access to ISO, EV and WB, I think the menu system on the M8 is the best of any digital camera I've ever used. The menus look good, excellent fonts and good colour scheme. They've done well.
Guest Arias Posted November 3, 2006 Share #11 Posted November 3, 2006 Take a look at page 25 and 29f - at least in the German version. H.
pascal_meheut Posted November 3, 2006 Share #12 Posted November 3, 2006 The idea is to keep the Menu button for the parameters you almost never change. And the set for the ones you change often. And it is a good idea to separate them. Once you get used to it, you'll like it.

billh Posted November 3, 2006 Author Share #15 Posted November 3, 2006 Take a look at page 25 and 29f - at least in the German version.H. It is at the top of page 93 in the English version. I wish that sort of info was on the first page, or included in a set of "quick start" instructions. Whatever, now i know, and there it will stay as long as I use the camera. I did have a couple of odd moments. I used the camera, turned it off, and could not get it to work again - so I plugged the battery back in to charge. The battery symbol shows a fully charged battery. This happened twice. This may be some other electronic magic that is eluding me - is there something alluding to this buried in the instruction book?. I am going to charge the other battery and try it again later! pascal_meheut Posted November 3, 2006 Share #16 Posted November 3, 2006 I think you would be better with an analog M. Give me your M8 and I'll give you a M7 or a M6 classic, whatever you prefer
