Advertisement Posted May 4, 2009 Posted May 4, 2009 Hi vdb, Take a look here In my woods. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
JE Posted May 4, 2009 Share #2 Posted May 4, 2009 Virgil, GREAT look you've achieved here. This simple image is remarkable. I bet this would look good A LOT bigger. I like the more rough hewn edges of the frame but I don't know about the white backing it. Some of the gray tones are a little flat near the bottom--especially near the right and on the larger log..still, I really like this. Jon
michali Posted May 4, 2009 Share #3 Posted May 4, 2009 Virgil- I agree with Jon, very interesting tones, a sense of foreboding, nicely done.
Marquinius Posted May 4, 2009 Share #4 Posted May 4, 2009 Virgil, I recognize a mutual feeling: time to experiment! Yes, a lot can be said about the photo technically (and Jon had some realistic pointers!), but I really love this trying to get out of bounds. Well done. vdb Posted May 4, 2009 Author Share #5 Posted May 4, 2009 Jon,Mike,Marco--I thank you kindly for commenting and viewing. I see this view many times daily but have not been successfully able to capture the mystery of the bending tree. So I wanted to add a little fuzz. there was no fog, but that was the idea Jon. The original was quite bland.

pauledell Posted May 4, 2009 Share #9 Posted May 4, 2009 Virgil, A great shot with the surrealism. I'm not sure if it reminds me more of a horror story or a fairy tale. Nice work. I like it. Paul
stuny Posted May 4, 2009 Share #10 Posted May 4, 2009 Virgil - I too very much like the sense of foreboding and mood. I, though, do not like the rough frame.
maurometallo Posted May 6, 2009 Share #11 Posted May 6, 2009 I'm late... This photo is very nice and I like the way you captured the fog...
albert Posted May 6, 2009 Share #12 Posted May 6, 2009 Virgil, I'm even later than Mauro. I like the Polaroid peel-off border and the whole thing gives me the creeps. See attached:
