Spring is here the Brent geese have landed

Hi there all. Here you have two photos of the Brent Geese who come up here every spring on their way to Northern Canada. These guys fly from Ireland with a stopover here in Iceland for a couple of weeks "to fill the tank". They sometimes gain up to 40% in weight in the short time they stop here and then go on over the Greenland glacier all the way to northern canada. I saw somewhere that they fly over 9000 kilometers each year. No small feat.

 

Taken with a M8+Visoflex+400 mm f5.0. A very difficult combination to use but when I get the focus correct this combo can deliver very sharp and nice photos. These are individuals that have been marked and the markers make for very "colorful" footware.
