rob_x2004 Posted May 1, 2009 Share #21 Posted May 1, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) The question is - do film Leicas also have all these focus problems? I would say yes but do not see any one complaining about problems with M7s or MPs... Yes they do but some people dont bring every problem to the forum. Ive reached gut full stage and am tempted to have a rant myself, but a recount would take me over a two year period and what will be four return MP period. But there is nothing wrong with the cameras in themselves, only the people at Solms who service them and either dont check their work, or dont fully understand what they are doing. I suspect Leica no longer emply the depth of experience of yesteryear and it tells when something goes pearshaped and needs to be sorted and sorted right. Advertisement Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Hi rob_x2004, Take a look here M8 repair for back focus. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted May 1, 2009 Share #22 Posted May 1, 2009 I send my things to Will van Manen when a lens or body loses focus, as Leica have been doing for time immemorial. The costs are very reasonable - certainly less than UPS to Solms!- and I have the stuff back within days with perfect focus.
