RockyIII Posted April 21, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 21, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anybody tried the polarizer filter adapters made by Leicagoodies (Steps) and Photo Equip (FilterView)? Is one better than the other, build quality or otherwise? Also, is there any reason to get the B+W filter with front threads, or would the slim filter without front threads be better to use with these adapters? Advertisement Posted April 21, 2009 Posted April 21, 2009 Hi RockyIII, Take a look here Steps or FilterView. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted April 21, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 21, 2009 I simply made my own out of a spare step-up ring and a 77 mm filter I had lying around. Took me 15 minutes and cost me nothing....
RockyIII Posted April 22, 2009 Author Share #3 Posted April 22, 2009 Sounds good, but I'm not that industrious. Rocky
RockyIII Posted April 23, 2009 Author Share #4 Posted April 23, 2009 I just realized that what I probably need is the Leica 14484 filter holder, when it becomes available, but what I am not clear on is if it will work in conjunction with the 13422 UV/IR filter. jaapv Posted February 21, 2011 Share #6 Posted February 21, 2011 Well, I am a dentist:o. However, a Dremel should do fine.
Bundestrainer Posted February 21, 2011 Share #7 Posted February 21, 2011 Advertisement (gone after registration) Unfortunately, I can't find a 46-77 step-up ring in Europe. Only found one in the US.

Paul Verrips Posted March 26, 2011 Share #9 Posted March 26, 2011 Just ordered the FilterView after comparing: - Leica universal pol filter kit - Kenko Vernier polariser & handheld checker - Leicagoodies, step up to steps Looks very easy & functional to me (no fuss). Just need to buy a 77mm polafilter, thinking about B&W Top Pol 77 E (linear). Any other recommendations? http://www.photoequip.net/_images/fvpair800.jpg B+W Top Pol 77 E | Foto Konijnenberg
freusen Posted March 26, 2011 Share #10 Posted March 26, 2011 Any other recommendations?[/url] I had the Filterview step up rings before, but now I use this combination from Leica (filter) and Heliopan (step up rings), the Heliopan rings are more solid (made of brass) then the Filterview ones. ___________ FrankR Welcome, dear visitor! Paul Verrips Posted March 26, 2011 Share #11 Posted March 26, 2011 Bollocks! Message from Photo Equip: I am very sorry, but Photo Equip is currently out of stock on FilterViews, and we don't have any scheduled in the reasonable future. Our previous vendor can no longer produce them and we are having difficulty locating someone who can. You will note if you go to your PayPal account that your payment has been refunded. The best I can offer is that I will add your name to the list of those waiting for a set should we be able to offer them in the future. Thanks for your interest in our products. I'm sorry for not being able to help you at this time. I have to chance plans........

EricC Posted April 3, 2011 Share #13 Posted April 3, 2011 I have had both different sets. I had difficulties with the threading on one of the Filterview step up rings. I returned them for a full refund and bought the Steps from Leicagoodies. I used them on our summer holidays last year with a 77mm polarising filter, the Steps have had no problem at all. The Steps, do appear to be easier to screw together and take apart again,
