Overgaard Posted April 15, 2009 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just finished my page on the Leica 19mm Elmarit-R 2.8 lens which I've used a bit since October 2008 on my DMR. leica.overgaard.dk - Thorsten Overgaard's Leica Pages - Leica 19m Elmarit-R f/2.8 version I and II sample photos
Advertisement Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Hi Overgaard, Take a look here New page on the Mandler 19mm f/2.8 Elmarit-R (on Leica DMR). I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
cpclee Posted April 15, 2009 Share #2 Posted April 15, 2009 Beautiful photos Thorsten. I particularly like the opening shot and the "shady" self portrait. The tonality of the first picture reminds me a lot of the Digilux 2. Two quick questions: (1) Is there any reason to believe the ver. 2 will produce less blue fringing? (2) Do you still shoot film at all? I wonder how the ver. 1 do on film.
joppepop Posted April 16, 2009 Share #3 Posted April 16, 2009 Oh....what wonderful pictures you have made with that lens. It's amazing how non-distorted the views are, I think of the one taken from inside the helicopter. Viewing the first image, it's also apparent how sharp it seems to be at f2.8. And what atmosphere, just perfect to my eyes. It's like you can reach out and touch the people in the images. I didn't mind about the fringering, hadn't even noticed it if not mentioned. I guess one finds what one looks for.
robsteve Posted April 16, 2009 Share #4 Posted April 16, 2009 Beautiful photos Thorsten. The latest 19mm is probably one of the best lenses at that focal length. Just for fun, I used a R to M adapter and shot my 19mm ver 2 against the Wate and the 19mm performed a bit better. The latest 19mm R is one of those Leica lenses that when you put the slides on the light table, they just had that certain pop to them. It also works well on the DMR and the ROM version will give you some lens corrections. Robert

leicamr Posted April 20, 2009 Share #6 Posted April 20, 2009 Hi Thorsten, Lovely pictures as always. I too love my 19 mm (version 2) I have considered the purchase of a second DMR just to keep this lens attached. Mark
