bradreiman Posted November 4, 2006 Share #4 Posted November 4, 2006 to me very, very filmlike. only no dust or hairs etc from the neg. no scanner issues. technically wonderful and they actually have soul. unlike possibly any other digital images ive ever seen. this is what i was hoping for. thanks for the posts ronald. petermcwerner Posted November 6, 2006 Share #5 Posted November 6, 2006 Ronald, Again great pictures, I csme back a few times to look at them again. Technical question: How did you manage to see the extension of the image corresponding to the M8 sensor size since the Visoflex shows the 24x36 image? Cheers Peter
vic vic Posted November 6, 2006 Share #6 Posted November 6, 2006 hi ronald... what is visoflex... it is the wiered acessory that turns the m camera as if it reflex camera, rite??? very good photos... i always love to see your racing stuff. inspiring and most of them fantastically done. im mad about cars and racing but usually dont have access to it, so looking at yours makes me feel good (and not so good, cause im getting on fire to do such things myself) :-)))) anyway.. the first photo especially is so good that i will give it a liitle critique.. the man in the photo looks to me like super gentelman - a handsome man that radiates pride and dignity - something of old kind dignity which is so rare now :-) and well done for doing such pic, but there is a problem with his mouth - it is too open and it brakes his face mimics. also.. just a little bit of the invironment would be great.. i mean a bit more of the steering wheel for example... just a little. lets say - u made it with 135 lens... so 90mm with one step closer would be amazing. if i would consider the photo for publishing i would have some strugle with myself... from one hand amazing and from the other hand a little fuck that brakes the perfectness of the face expression and of character of person. fantastic photos all in all.... bread... how exactly do u judge the "film like quality" on the monitor... i really would like to study it:-)))))) dont have m8 as yet but im sure it is fantastic.... the point is that from what i know about ronald, he has a very good and eveloped taste with photography (i mean b/w). i beleive he also has very good ability to work with software from what i can see. this means that with good software work and good taste i can achieve something good with digital file. but i dount it makes it fully comparable with b/w film :-))))))
Rona!d Posted November 6, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted November 6, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Peter, Crop 1.33 is not so hard to calculate. But if I would use the Visoflex regularly with an M8, i would maybe change the focussing screen to one with a crop 1.33-frame (homemade!). Vic, thanks for the comments. See above point about cropping these pics but with driver #1 (the classic hero-type) I´m quit happy like it is.
stunsworth Posted November 6, 2006 Share #8 Posted November 6, 2006 Very nice portraits Ron, b&w was a good choice too. I'd prefer the first two without the cropped heads, but that's a personal choice.
cbretteville Posted November 6, 2006 Share #9 Posted November 6, 2006 I like these a lot. I am happy I have a 135 T-E with a detachable lens head.... A Visoflex III looks weird on an M, but cool non the less. Hmmmm.... - C
