The first tenants in the Leitz Park

Brits, sorry, a jumble.

Perhaps in the past but not so much today. Modern architecture is global.

Go look at the Mclaren building (easily found on Google) designed by Foster.

Come on now, lets say it as it is. I'm sure the Leica buildings are functional and efficient, but visually they are simply boring cube structures.

You know, these days many vineyards are hiring famous architects for the design of very expensive buildings that serve as hotels, wineries, and business centers. Those buildings are spectacular and quite expensive. For instance, look at Frank Gehry projects (there is one in Spain: Marqués de Riscal vineyard if I remember well).

Leica's project for the future seems to be different, and it has nothing to do with that kind of show business connecting tourism, leisure and wine.

Leica needs a factory and design center. A good place for a very specific and specialized type of work and product.

Saugstelle = Sinkhole?

I must admit I have never come across that word before. But while I’m unsure as to its exact meaning, I’m positive it isn’t German for “This place sucks”.

Edit: Apparently it is some kind of fire hydrant.
