Jamie Roberts Posted November 1, 2006 Share #83 Posted November 1, 2006 Pascal - Congrats. You seem to be the luckiest one of us here. I just checked with my dealer and am told that I should have a nice little package arriving on Saturday. Talk about anticipation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ray And your going to come visit me , right Ray:D :D Oh for those of us in Canuckland, it'll probably be later than ever. Sigh. Though Michael Reichmann's got one, so I know one is within a 100km of me!! I'm number 8 on a list here in Toronto. I have a 50 Summilux ASPH and a 35 Summilux ASPH being Fedexed from New York, too (thanks Guy, for that recommendation!). The 35 is chrome, though--I'll have to paint it or something (just kidding!). I think I'm going with the 28 ASPH Leica as a pancake lens and I'll pick up a 28 CV 1.9 for speed. Whew. I've never been more anxious to get a camera into my hands before. I'm usually pretty cool about these kinds of things, well, relative to Guy, anyway (kidding!). Guy, if I could swing the trip to Phoenix, I'd be there by Friday to buy you the beer or three you're most definitely going to need to calm down! bradreiman Posted November 1, 2006 Share #84 Posted November 1, 2006 mitchell-the shop is Leo's in Vancouver,BC. They're only getting one tho so its taken. It seems most are getting only one or two this shipment which should be friday for north america. i recommend calling around to leica dealers and find one with noone on the list. If you get one from canada they can ship it to you tax free and the warranty is international so warranty is ok. since you're in maine i'd look at leicas dealer locator (at leica-camera.com) and see if theres anything in the maritimes or quebec. i was surprised at how few people were on the waiting lists when i called around. the shops that require a deposit generally have very few people on the lists. lots of interest but not that many people making the commitment at the smaller shops. good luck....b

davidmires Posted November 1, 2006 Share #90 Posted November 1, 2006 Congratulations to everyone with their new M8! I just spoke with my dealer and he said my black M8 will arrive on the 26th of November. He is getting a silver one around the middle of next week that I could have if I want it... I really want the black, but I don't know if I can take three more weeks of waiting! I know, I know: just buy some Kodachrome and be happy getting to know my new 28mm 2.8 ASPH right? Trying to convince myself that I would be happy with silver...
pascal_meheut Posted November 1, 2006 Author Share #91 Posted November 1, 2006 Wait for the one you want. 3 weeks are nothing and you can still shoot film in the meantime indeed. We shot films with M for 50 years, you can continue for 25 days.
