Die Zeche war von 1875 bis 2000 in Betrieb. Im Moment wird die gesamte Anlage für Gewerbe, Kultur und Freizeit aufgearbeitet. Der Sandkasten befindet sich tatsächlich unterhalb des Förderturms, angeschlossen ist eine kleine Gastronomie im hinteren Bereich des Förderturms, so, dass es halt für die Kinder der Gäste auch einen kleinen Spielbereich gibt. Ich musste trotz des Hinweises auf den Sandkasten selbst vor Ort genauer hinschauen, um diesen auch zu finden. Anbei nun noch eine Ansicht des gesamten Förderturms. Folgender Tresendialog, überhört vor Ort, wird mir immer unvergesslich bleiben: "Hömma Hebert, weisst Du, watt ne Inkubationszeit iss?" (Fragesteller war gerade in die Bildzeitung vertieft!)
