Michael Hiles Posted March 16, 2009 Share #7 Posted March 16, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Henri, what a fabulous invention. Too bad for long distances it's more expensive than the airplane. Bonjour Henri, Lovely shot. My experience is the price is highly dependent on the time of travel and the place to start. Last summer I needed to get from Charles De Gaulle to Toulouse. The very cheap way was from the city centre at 6:00 a.m. - about 19 euros. From Charles De Gaulle at 11:30 a.m. roughly the same ride was about 350 euros. I took EasyJet for about 120 euros.

You are right about the price,it's cheaper if you make reservation soon and choose period out of rush hour. Sometimes it's cheaper than plane according to me and you arrive downtown directly,

Doc Henry Posted March 26, 2009 Author Share #11 Posted March 26, 2009 as promised..... continuation with some more pictures taken yesterday March 2009 With some photos which show you that the principle of the French HST is not the same in comparison with the german HST called InterCity Express or ICE The system of suspension is between cars for the french HST (picture 2 and 3) what avoid the derailments, as knew the ICE , whereas the ICE's system has 2 suspensions by car , one on each side of the car , while on the HST it does not exist !
