Dhalartl Posted March 13, 2009 Share #1 Posted March 13, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi just saying hello, Having been a Canon camera owner, SLR and Compact I have eventually reached the dizzy heights of owning a Leica. After my head decided I should buy the LX3 I ordered it then my heart took over and I cancelled the order and ordered the D-Lux 4. I have just received it and the battery is on charge as I speak. Just holding it I know I made the right decision. Cant wait to start taking pictures with it. Looking forward to many years as a Leica owner. vdb Posted March 16, 2009 Share #11 Posted March 16, 2009 Welcome aboard. You will enjoy this little camera. I would encourage trying the various film modes--B&W dynamic is my favorite. I do very little DPP and still use mainly JPEG and am thrilled with the quality of the images. Enjoy and please post on the photo sections. Also note the upcoming D-Lux 4 challenge---just for the fun of it.

Will listen to your advice, next time I will shoot DYNAMIC B&W mode, and see ... By the way, for the moment you can see some my pics on my website .:: SACCHIBROS.COM - MAISON ! ::. but the photos are all done with my Canon cameras ... Sport photos only. The little Leica wonder is jsut a pure pleasure for me ... and won't go with it on motocross tracks !
Iago Posted March 17, 2009 Share #13 Posted March 17, 2009 Wow, three of us with the same story. I am a longtime Canon user film, digital SLR's as well as compacts (since AE-1P in 1984), and have finally made the Leica jump with the D-Lux 4 as well. I've only had the camera a very short time, and am really quite happy with the build quality and images. Very glad to join the Leica community! I finally tested the DYNAMIC B&W ... it seems it is interesting, but "too dynamic" for my photographic taste ! LOL ... The standard B&W is for me really really great ... I appreciate also the NOSTALGIC in the color mode ... I am very satisfied with my first days with the D-LUX 4 ...
