Overgaard Posted March 11, 2009 Share #2 Posted March 11, 2009 Well, that unfortunately rules out the R cameras. The DMR can shoot max two fps. Digilux 3 can take R lenses but the fps is only 3 fps as far as I know. I have no personal experience with Canon bodies or Nikon. Both can take R lenses; Canon via adapter, Nikon via rebuilding the mount on the R-lens to Nikon (some say reversible, some say not). Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

One think i like is the 50-200 2.8 3.5 lens they offer. so for an investment in the Oly and perhaps a lens you can continue to use R lenses with an adpter for the "non-quick action" photos. bottom line is it depends on what sports you are shooting and where - for example outdoors on the field is going to be very differnet then indoors in the gym Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Any one with a strong recommendation? Thanks in advance! ryee3:o If you want accurate manual focus and high frame rate, I would suggest one of the Canon 1 series bodies. These start as the 1D, 1Ds, and then the 1D MkII, 1Ds Mk II and I think up to the 1DMk III and 1Ds MK III. In the past, I had great success with 1D and 1D Mk II. I mainly shoot with the DMR, now, but still have the 1D. Any of the Canon 1 series has near Leica build quality and high frame rates of 8fps or higher. The finder is also bright, accurate and precise for manual focus, which cannot be said about Canon's consumer level cameras such as the 20d, 30D, 40D, 50D, 5D series.
