volkerhopf Posted October 26, 2006 Share #1 Posted October 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, My nice Panasonic LC1 has decided to stop working. More precisely it won't take pictures any more. The viewfinder is black only the info in the viewfinder is still visible. You can still watch old photos that are on an SD card. The only thing I did differently was to use a 2 GB Kingston card and not my normal 1GB card. Has anybody heard about something like that. I am trying to find out if it is economical to repair the camera. Any comment is greatly appreciated. Volker

cbretteville Posted October 26, 2006 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2006 Volker, I use a 2gig Crucial card in my D2 without any problems, so the card size in it self isn't what caused it. I could be wrong, but I don't beleive this is related to the card unless it had a short or something that caused the camera to fail. Was this a new card or had you used it before in another device? - Carl
Riley Posted October 26, 2006 Share #3 Posted October 26, 2006 are there any sounds of life out of it at all like the noise of the AF system ? the green LED above the power switch is on? does the EVF work? Riley

The card was new but it works fine in other cameras,
albertwang Posted October 26, 2006 Share #6 Posted October 26, 2006 It's not the card but I suspected that some component in the LC1 must have failed.

No offence intended; sometimes the obvious things get overlooked so I thought I'd mention it. Hope for your wallet's sake that this is the problem. Pete. Hi Pete, no offence taken, but it would have been a nice solution. Something like that happened to me with a petal sunshade on a Canon lens. We all thought something was wrong with the lens, but the sunshade was just not put on properly.
