London - Spring in the air meet?

1000 apologies for not turning up when I had received such a cordial invitation - looks like you all had a great time, and some great shots were made.

I had forgotten that I was booked to be bimbling around a certain German town on the Lahn and Dill, as well as taking a factory tour, which was great. Thanks to Herr Ralph Hagenauer; a fantastic Leica host. Interesting to see how things have changed at Solms since my last factory tour, which was long before M8 production.

Didn't see any S2s or white M8s though. But a lot of areas did have opaque glass to foil nosey sods like me.

Saw a bloke working on a 0.95 Noctilux - there's a morbid fascination in seeing a 6000 quid lens in bits albeit a development 'hack' - and it was admitted that the lens is indeed delayed for 'technical reasons'. So the credit card is safe for now.

Anyhow, here's hoping that I can make the next London meet.

Cheers

John

Jeez I look p*ss*d. What time of day was this?

My favourite so far has to be Brian's valiant attempt at reproducing those marvellous Richard Bryant pictures. I've put his book on my Amazon wish-list as a hint for the offspring for Father's Day.

Thanks Louis. Did you know that you can order quality paper or canvas prints on line from Somerset House Trust. I'm tempted by the Barge on the Thames one!

It was great to see everyone at the meeting on Saturday - I'm pleased to say the Star wars characters seen by Pete in post #58 did make it to the right place, the following day :) !!

A great meet and good photos. Thanks for your company, all.

Most of my photos were on film, so if any are worth posting it'll be a few more days yet, but a couple on the M8 50mm 'cron:

Tim, Louis

Thank you. However I feel I have a couple of advantages that steered me towards something a bit unusual: first, I work as an an architect which give me a good understanding of the "anatomy" of a staircase and secondly, I'd been to this building before not so long ago. Having said that, I'm not generally that interested in architecture as a subject for photography.
