Please don't misunderstand me.

It is not my wish to "show off", but I have something that might be interesting to some of you who care about Leica.

I just posted in my blog a kind of historic happening for me: in 1988 I had an exhibition in Leica Galerie for a month. Then it stayed one more month in the then new Leica Werk in Solms. As far as I know, it must have been the first exhibition shown in Solms, as the plant was just new.

If you are interested, let me invite you to see the photographs and read the whole story (from my point of view) in AL-MOSTLY-PHOTOGRAPHY.

Cheers,

Rui

P.S.: I hope that I am not breaking any forum rules...

I don't consider this to be publicity.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you very much for the link.

I just forgot it...

I hope that you find the images interesting.

Cheers, Rui

Pleased to help. I think the photographs are really great.

My eldest brother lives in Portugal and I really like how you capture the unique feel of your wonderful country. Also, I am very pleased that we have a Portugese food shop in The Hague. Portugese food is a study in classical simplicity and is really wonderful.

Note to myself: go there more often.

Rui, what a marvelous catalog of a life's work. I'm thrilled by the variety of images and the various special tools you employed. The Corey is unique. I dream of the Blad SW, but the world financial conflagration stands in my way.

I was struck by the Hasselblad images. They remind me how special a privilege it is to hold those cameras & lens in one's hands. I love the vast real estate of those 120 negatives and I see my own work reflected in the tones and very special articulation that the Zeiss masters conjured in their designs. The smooth transitions, often to infinity, and the creamy, milky shades of gray that meld into the background are so special in your work & the signature of the the 150 & 120. Thanks for giving us access to such a wide swath of your imagery. I most enjoyed this journey & come away inspired & fulfilled. All the best, Ben

Thanks everybody for your kind support, I really aprecciate.

Mr Roguewave, I was delighted to read your good critic. I hope that my future work will be up to what I could do until now. Sometimes it is very hard to be able to keep the flame burning.

Times are really tough right now, and if you mention that in the moment you can't afford a Hasselblad SW, let me reply that I couldn't even afford a Zorki or a Kiev right now...

The future looks so dark, that I am afraid that I can't even afford film!

I am not ashamed of saying it loud, because it simply is the truth.

Let's have hope that the situation changes for better for all of us, and that we can keep having the joy of doing our photography in the way we love to do it.

Once again, thanks everybody, and I would be glad if you keep looking in my blog.

Cheers,

Rui Morais de Sousa
