So how come the post "Greta" shows without being logged on? I figure it might have something to so with the way the image is posted? Maybe it wasn't posted using paper clip? Other posts didn't show without login. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Other posts didn't show without login.] Images posted to forum on paper clip?? Is paper clip something available on forum? I'm trying to figure out how to post images (via OSX 10.4.7). Had no success with the photobucket server yesterday and I'm beginning to feel like a complete idiot. Maybe someone out there can explain to me an easy way to occasionally post an image. rob_x2004 Posted October 25, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted October 25, 2006 Go to your user Control Panel "CP" and open up edit options. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! To the bottom of the panel under Miscellaneous you will find the most advanced editing options "WYSIWYG" Save them. Open your "new thread" or "reply to thread" and you will now see your paperclip icon, which opens the upload box called "Manage attchments" When you complete your uploads close out of that box...or you can leave it open if you like, but click on the down arrow next to the paperclip which brings up the real Manage attachments box. Attach whichever file or insert all files to the place where your cursor is active in the body of this posting box. You can drag then around in "this" posting box, and preview youir changes before hitting the "submit reply." square_one Posted October 26, 2006 Share #7 Posted October 26, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Rob - I'm trying, I'm trying! I (OX10.4.7) can 'paperclip' a 91.9 .jpg image from my desktop to the initial Manage Attachments page (via 'enhanced interface') where it properly shows as a .jpg within the 'current attachment' sub-box. >BUT when I paperclip/down-arrow and bring up the 'real' manage attachments box (which correctly shows the uploaded .jpg) I can't do a thing with it. >Click the title within the box with the live cursor all I get is the initial 'manage attachments' page back in my face. >Try to move the real-box into the reply block all I get a blue-flash overlay over the entire reply block. >And if I force-feed my image straight from the currrent attachment box from the manage attachments page (not kosher I know), I get only this, which doesn't appear as a photo: http://www.leica-camera-user.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=12994&stc=1&d=1161885624 When you've got a moment ... help.. square_one Posted October 26, 2006 Share #8 Posted October 26, 2006 Whoa! There's Josef's Rocket! Guess I've only one question now: That red address? Is it always there or can I eliminate the distraction? Thanks, Bruce
jmr Posted October 26, 2006 Share #9 Posted October 26, 2006 Bruce, congratulations on posting a picture - sometimes it's not quite as easy as it could be, at least not until you've got the hang of it. Can I recommend that you read Brian's tip on posting images to the forum. It's visible as an "announcement" at the top of the People section of the Photo's part of the site. If you follow his instructions you should be able to see your photo in the thread in preview mode before you submit it, as well as posting multiple images if you want to. square_one Posted October 26, 2006 Share #10 Posted October 26, 2006 Another test: >>>>> address info edited-away sucessfully. Can only get an image into Reply field by dragging it's tag out of 'currrent attachments' (as previously mentioned}. 'Submitting Reply' and then going to see if I can edit-away the useless red wwwl.leic>url address info. B
square_one Posted October 26, 2006 Share #11 Posted October 26, 2006 Done deal. May not be exactly the right way but works for me! Oh, this test photo is an old Erwitt - love his humor. Thanks John and Rob. Bruce
rob_x2004 Posted October 27, 2006 Author Share #12 Posted October 27, 2006 Time zones huh If you can drag the jpg title you should be able to just hover your mouse over it and double click, and the insertion point in the reply thread will be where you left off typing, you will see the flashing cursor. Anyway it gets easier with familiarity, and there are some other quirks, like attachments that follow inserted images that hopefully you wont come across. All good fun.
