Disraeli`s legacy ??

OK, I have to ask... I don't get the title. This doesn't look like Pompey to me, because the hill is too flat to be Portsdown Hill.

Hi! I took the foto on trip round the South of England some 25 years ago.

I can`t remember the exact location.

The title? The industrial architecture looks very old to me and I have a 19th century association, so I thought about a name to go with it.

I can be entirely wrong, but this looks very exotic to me, and look at the numerous people trying to catch some sun!

Best regards Wolfhard and thank you for your comments

Hmmm. Well the picture is so small I cannot make out any people catching the sun!

Now I come to think of it, Portsmouth did used to have a power station right down at the end of Portsea Island with twin towers like this. In fact we used to joke that it looked like two fingers being thrust upwards to any visitor. Still, I can't work out where you would have taken this picture from.

Incidentally, I thought perhaps you had mistakenly used 'Disraeli' for 'Palmerston' and were referring to the unique hill and sea forts around Portsmouth, often called 'Palmertson's Follies'.

Hi! Thanks for your comment!

"Disraeli" was more or less an accidental finding, I thought it was a good follow-up for "Thatcher`s legacy" ,- the thread no. 4,-best regards Wolfhard

Hello! I have checked google and google earth upside down and I believe I got it, it seems to be not improbable that foto shows one of the two blocks of the old Portiishead power station near Bristol!

It is demolished meanwhile,-

Any folks from Bristol around here?

best regards

Wolfhard
