stunsworth Posted March 11, 2009 Share #42 Posted March 11, 2009 So I assume we're still going to Portmerrion on the 28th. Meet by the entrance? What time? 10:30? Since it's a bit of a treck for most of us I guess any late arrivals should assume we're inside.
jmr Posted March 11, 2009 Share #43 Posted March 11, 2009 Sorry I can't make the 28th March, it sounds like fun. Blackpool in early summer sounds strangely alluring.
absonus Posted March 11, 2009 Share #44 Posted March 11, 2009 You're on a slippery slope <grin>. I quite fancy a meeting in Blackpool - Andy's reservations not withstanding. Since later this month seems to be taken, early summer perhaps? Yes ...I fear that you may right there , already thinking of a second body. I mainly shoot slide although I have been using some HP 5 .Subjects....well mainly friends and the equestrian scene, which I am involved in.Still use the digital Fx3 although it is soon out of its comfort zone. Keep meaning to pop back to the home town (Manchester,Didsbury) this summer and take a few around the old haunts. Early summer in Blackpool sounds good though.Just outside of it you have the more historic places like Poulton and the boatyards on the Wyre estuary.Just 25 miles away there is Lancaster with its old streets and 900 year old castle although you canot shoot inside as it is still a working prison. To do so carries a two year jail sentence ! stunsworth Posted March 11, 2009 Share #45 Posted March 11, 2009 ...well mainly friends and the equestrian scene, which I am involved in... You run a string of donkeys on the sands? Being serious, I think a trip to Blackpool in June would be grand.
absonus Posted March 13, 2009 Share #46 Posted March 13, 2009 You run a string of donkeys on the sands? Being serious, I think a trip to Blackpool in June would be grand. Now that would be a good idea instead of him sitting in his stable and costing me money. You think Leica are expensive ! June would be great ,we could all wear knotted hankies on our heads. absonus Posted March 19, 2009 Share #55 Posted March 19, 2009 T'was on both BBC and ITV local news tonight. All over the property press this week. BBC NEWS | England | Resort redevelopment agreed Thanks for the info. Just looked it up on the tinternet. Looks good . Heaven knows ,they need to do something with the town. They have recently improved the front at Cleveleys and people are now using it more.It also seems to be attracting photographers. Plenty of sweeping modern designs and lights. farnz Posted March 23, 2009 Share #57 Posted March 23, 2009 Gents, Are you aware that the "Six of One Prisoner Convention", which is the yearly meeting of the official Prisoner Appreciation Society, will be taking place at Port Meirion from 27th to 29th March? It conjures up images of Port Meirion filled with blazered McGoohan look-a-likes muttering about not being a number and being stalked by a large, white, rubber balls. Btw it doesn't look like the weather's going to behave itself. Pete.
