Dan - no need to go that far ;)

It doesn't have to be digital, and you don't have to post on the day.

It'll be just a thread of what we all get up to on that day and not necessarily posted on that day. I would like to make this as inclusive as possible - I don't want anyone to feel left out and I would love it if there were a hundred posts or more. The more the merrier, in fact!

Sounds good to me. Don't know where I will be on that day, but wherever it is I will certainly be using my Leicas.

Cheers,

Conrad you'll be " East of Java , near Krakatoa" :D

Count me in Andy.... heck all I have to do is walk down to the beach or go to my Mom's garden :)

Nice project!!

Regards Leic a Mann :)ooops almost forgot how about this GMT thingy... Aussies will be a whole day ahead of us..so..if you want to get technical..the thread according to Aussie time would be open for 7hrs....

Good point about the Antipodes, John.

I shall, of course, open the thread so that Erl and everyone can post at a minute past midnight their time if they insist :)

I think we are all grown up enough to know when it's New year's Day where we are (but maybe not compis-mentis enough, from what I've read here... ;) )

Andy,

Thanks for the great idea. I should be in California then instead of Boston-as-usual -- and SHOULD have my M8 (these last 10 days are excruciating). So, I will be able to walk to photograph something other than the snow or leafless trees in my as-usual back yard.

If I see something early that I really like, I'll just alter the exif file. Just kidding. We should be in the spirit, of course.

Happy New Year, in advance.

Regards,

In your case, then, Bill, I will expect to see a copy of the San Francisco Bugle dated 1st Jan, somewhere in your shot :)

From your posting, I infer that there must be such a thing. Does one have to walk a long way to acquire this newspaper?

Andy..about the "film " thing..I am afraid that will narrow down the possibilities to.. : digital or B&W film maybe one coming from Steve..since he has a Jobo processor..so he can do color film...but don't expect most participants th take "color film " that day..have it processed and ready and scanned for that day..that will simply not be possible ..also most "Labs" will be closed on New Years. So I think this needs to be factored in as well.

Regards, Leicamann:cool:

As I said above, John, the images don't have to be posted on the day, just taken on the day.

This should be an inclusive event, so that everyone can contribute. If it takes a week for stuff to come back from the lab, that's not a problem.

I look forward to seeing what you get up to, John ;)

Andy,

I'll be working on the 31st and 1st, showbiz; I might as well make the most of that day. Count me in.

I am a B&W type so you may have to set a date limit for posting that gives us a bit of time for processing and printing. I read that you mentionned a week: sounds ok to me.

Take as long as you like - there's no pressure!
