Just because my brain is idle, I have had a further thought re the Jan 1 'challenge'. ie. a day in the Life ....etc.

I anticipate that there will be a great number of good and/or interesting pics made for this venture, yet we are only submitting one each. As for the recent "One Challenge" in Paris, some of the best images were edited out by each photographer. (We do make lousy editors of our own work!) I am thinking of making a separate file of all my out takes as I reckon by walking round my local "domain" I can pick up a huge range of images. If enough of us do this, it could be very a very interesting 'travelogue' of where each of us lives.

O.K. So that builds a tall ladder from which to jump!:D ..... but think of the photo opportunities on the way down.

Anyone interested?

Cheers,

Erl

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum (but not to Leica). I too will try to post a photo taken on January 1, 2007 from Vancouver, Canada. My very first scanner will arrive tomorrow. I finally decided to start digitizing some of my photos to share on the net. This should be interesting for me. The scanner is Nikon Coolscan V ED. I made the decision to go for the V ED after all the excellent advice shared by some of you on this forum.

Cheers!

Perhaps next year we should try the suggestion (by Erl?) that we limit ourselves to within 100 metres of where we live. There's nothing like a challenge!

Erl's probably surrounded by magnificent opportunities. :D

Yes! I am. But so is everyone.

I reckon a real challenge is to find your self anywhere and have someone say "Now, you have five minutes to capture an interesting image." Or even 30 sec. Sounds challenging? It is fun to try. Needs two or more on the spot to play.

It's a bit like theatre sports where you are given a topic and you have to talk non stop on it for a set time with no warning. A great addrenalin pumper.

Cheers,

Erl

I know I'm a bit late but I did promise to post :D ! I only returned from my holiday on Monday with a mere (!) 7Gb of Raws and JPEGs to go through.

I know it originally said one shot but I see that several have posted more so - here are a few shots of where I was on NYD - San Pedro de Atacama in N. Chile:

Early morning - hotel pool

The shady side of Main Street

Hmm - I removed one image to add the one below - Main Street but it seems to have a posted a bit strange despite followint the procedure!
