Tenor1 Posted February 6, 2009 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2009 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm trying to determine the differences between these the Panasonic vs. the Leica viewfinders.
Advertisement Posted February 6, 2009 Posted February 6, 2009 Hi Tenor1, Take a look here D-Lux 4: Does the Panasonic viewfinder have a frame for 35 mm focalwidth?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
earleygallery Posted February 6, 2009 Share #2 Posted February 6, 2009 AFAIK they are both 24mm finders (no 'multi' frames). I'm sure either will do the job as well. VC make a range of finders 24mm, 25mm, 35mm etc.

VC make a range of finders 24mm, 25mm, 35mm etc. Including one which shows 28 and 35 frames, might be a useful compromise? Gerry
earleygallery Posted February 6, 2009 Share #4 Posted February 6, 2009 I have an old Russian Helios finder which has 35mm, 50mm and 85mm framelines. You can pick them up on e bay for a few pounds/dollars/euro's or whatever.
bill Posted February 6, 2009 Share #5 Posted February 6, 2009 I have an old Russian Helios finder which has 35mm, 50mm and 85mm framelines. You can pick them up on e bay for a few pounds/dollars/euro's or whatever. I have that finder, and I have tried it on the D-Lux 4. It's not close enough to either the max wide or tele settings to be useful. I'm on the lookout for a 50mm finder myself, since I use it most of the time at the tele setting. anderswi Posted February 6, 2009 Share #6 Posted February 6, 2009 Including one which shows 28 and 35 frames, might be a useful compromise? Gerry I bought my Leica 24mm viewfinder, for DLUX 4, a couple of weeks ago. I was a little bit surprised that a frame for 35mm also was there. It would have been better with 50mm or 60 mm instead, I think.
