sensors ..something to think about

Interesting, and probably smart : I have often thought that there must be a way to capitalize the fact that now is possible to shrink > 10 Mpx on so small CCDs... after all, as for print, I think that there isn't a real need for such a resolution, when a surely very high percentage of shots taken with small sensors are destined to 10x15/13x18/20x25 max print size (or to no print at all...). Of the tech details they give, the most interesting (reasoning in "M8 terms".. ;) ) seems to me the "high ISO - low noise" mode... I even wonder if some other manufacturer maybe has already implemented something similar (I think to the exceptional high ISO pics taken with some Nikon DSLR I've seen sometime).

In general terms, it's another proof that, at the moment, the developers of sensor technologies are really the principal actors in the photo equipment industry... fact is (and not renouncing to my Leica passion.. :o ),a camera manufacturer which hasn't any control on sensor tech has a less competitive role in the market.

Fuji needs to get some serious glass i would have thought oly would be a natural, but the again Japanese business politics might have a say in that one. The original Digilux was developed in partnership with Fuji then off to Panasonic

You could once choose your film pity its not the same for chips. Fuji seems to offer some room for choice in sensor setup. Corporate cross licensing will tend to limit our choices. The Nikon mount is giving access to an amazing range of sensor types if you include the scientific camera chips.
