Hexengrund, Gdańsk Bay

 

well..... I'll give you that ...... usually referred to as Torpedowania, just north of Gdynia.

 

it was a German Torpedo testing facility built in 1940 and extended in 1942. ..... the piles represent part of the railway that took torpedo bits for assembly. On the opposite side of the bay about 10km away were 2 watch towers and a net between to catch the torpedoes. 

 

I'll be back in August next year when sunrise is behind the building in line with some of the piles (they are more photogenic further right) to take some more shots ......

 

This is a photo of a similar installation in Germany in 1937 ....
