Im assuming we need more hints other than a National Park located in Utah that is appx 100mi from Page, AZ?

The other hint about the "head of a pin" is related to the phrase or question, "How many angels can dance on the head of the pin".

Of course the hint there being the word angels.

Angels + Utah + National Park will give anyone the answer who input's those into any search engine.

Going on a few assumptions here;

Picture is looking generally Northwest and that might be Mt. Whitney.

Trying to narrow down from there on places that are on \ near the western border of DVNP has me at the Panamint Valley.

Really now I'm just scouring google map views.

At first it really looked like that part of CA to me: Rough, rugged, dry, typical shrubbery, but with high peaks in the background.

Also a little like the Andes to some extent, but the roads looks in too good of shape ;)

edit:

maybe i take that back

looking more SE and is that telescope peak instead? Makes more sense with the shadow im assuming is from afternoon light.

still same valley

Bingo.. for your last edit remarks. :)

It is indeed Telescope peak and it is indeed shot in the afternoon. Good job Dr. Watson. :)

The following map shows it clearly. The road running across the dry valley (Panamint Valley) is 190. From the map you can make out from where the picture us taken.

BTW, I love the general area and visit quite often. You can watch some really breathtaking scenery of this area in my youtube video (from 2011). Most of the pictures in the video is shot using D-Lux5. I didn't have M that time.

Super cool, Jayant.

DVNP has been on my list to visit for quite some time. I've seen many pictures from coworkers who used to live in socal and who were able to visit more easily than I am in CO. One had an interesting story about taking his new 4X4 out on a very remote road, and having it totally die when he was climbing a hill. Somehow though he was able to determine his engine would work going in reverse, so he ended up having to drive out a road backwards for a few miles to get back to flat. Then he was ok. lol

Will have to do some digging for another picture when I get home later.

Yes, it is indeed quite remote place if you wander off main road. There is hardly any traffic and you will have no help if something breaks down. Couple of times I have taken 4x4 but have been very careful in planning any adventure. Now I carry PLB (personal locator beacon) all the time but still plan as if I do not have PLB.

Alright

So i struggled a bit to pick out an image taken on a trip during the month of November a while ago. (this is the rainy season)

I think there's enough here to get started for a few guesses. I have a few other images I could probably share that will help put it in more perspective, but suffice it to say, that this place is one big lust garden, quite mountainous in areas, has lots of waterfalls, and has some amazing reefs. I will also say, the people who live here are some of the nicest most genuine people I've ever met. We were there primarily for diving, so I only brought a small p&s and a waterproof action cam.

To get the answer, I will need the name of this country. Bonus points if you can name the name of the place where I am in this country or the name of the straight that I'm looking out on. This might take some time.
