Michael Hiles Posted August 16, 2016 Share #16302 Posted August 16, 2016 Not Chengdu, but much closer than Japan or Boston.
pechelman Posted August 16, 2016 Share #16303 Posted August 16, 2016 3 hrs flight from Tokyo, either Beijing or HK then I would guess. Shanghai probably too close. Have no clue how to guess which park it would be in any city though. Dont really see any distinguishing features.
Michael Geschlecht Posted August 16, 2016 Share #16304 Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) Hello Phil, There are tons of clues in that photo. Those are plants that mostly grow in the climate of Denver or warmer. Vegetation like that requires more rain than Denver. But, the photo is not taken in a tropical climate. We have just eliminated a lot of the square meters of China. Altho there is still quite a bit left. Altho, not as much is still left as might be since we can only fly 3 hours from Japan. And there are even more clues. The puzzle has been solved to a considerable extent. All that you need is a reasonable atlas* & a dream. Best Regards, Michael * An "atlas" is a kind of device from the "old days" that people back then called a "book". Michael Hiles Posted August 17, 2016 Share #16305 Posted August 17, 2016 I hope I have not mislead anyone with the "3 hrs from Tokyo" - it seemed reasonable, but I didn't check with a travel site. Pechelman has eliminated Shanghai too easily...
Michael Geschlecht Posted August 17, 2016 Share #16306 Posted August 17, 2016 Hello Michael, I think many people would think that your 3 hours might have some "+" or "-" in it. Best Regards, Michael
Michael Hiles Posted August 17, 2016 Share #16307 Posted August 17, 2016 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Michael, Tokyo to Shanghai (see reply above) takes 3hr 40min on AIr China (according to an air travel booking site). farhiz Posted August 17, 2016 Share #16308 Posted August 17, 2016 Could it be Fuxing Park in Shanghai? Saw some pictures on the web based on a search. Apologies in advance if Shanghai has been eliminated previously as a candidate.

otto.f Posted August 18, 2016 Share #16312 Posted August 18, 2016 (edited) I can only guess that these people are from German or Luxemburg Oh and the castle might be Burgundian Edited August 18, 2016 by otto.f
farhiz Posted August 19, 2016 Share #16313 Posted August 19, 2016 Hi otto, The people may quite possibly be from where you say. I don't know for sure. But, here's a hint: the site is next to a lake that freezes over in winter to transform into a skating park. So, a castle next to a winter skating ring?
