pretty sure i know where this is, down to the name of that rock formation, but not sure i feel it right for me to answer as it took a bit of guessing and google searching

What i'm curious about, and maybe you can answer after someone guesses correctly, but what is it exactly about the crop that would give it away?

To me it seems like the zoomed out version is easier to figure out the location.  This place in general is still on my travel list, so I'd like to know eventually :)

Why not go for it if you're pretty sure. otto.f hasn't come through and Michael knows where it is but can't post right now so.....

Anyway, here is another image that should wind it up.

I was just curious and do not know whether it adds to the solution. The left, bigger rock seems to have a man-made arty structure, that is more to the left than the given crop. Intrigued me, that's all

Michael and all,

Sorry for my delay.

I had forgotten to post a picture after I learned that you were unable to post a picture.

Here's another relatively easy one.

Hello Phil,

Perhaps on the Mosel or 1 of its tributaries?

Best Regards,

Michael

wrong river basin all together.  Still, the Mosel and Rhine are geographically close to this picture, at least as things go in the world.

I'd focus more on the tower and the garden than the river. Certainly that tower should look familiar, though maybe a bit smaller. (big hint :))

Michael. No worries :)

Brought some extra life to the thread.

Could we be in Japan? Only guessing that because of the people.

Otherwise, the only thing else I might be able to identify; are those eucalyptus trees on the sides?

Japan is much closer - but not correct. It is Asia, flight from Tokyo - probably 3 hrs. The people are a kind of informal glee club who come to the park to sing,
