Advertisement Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Hi stuny, Take a look here "Do you know the world ?" -- Competition --. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
dcoombs Posted February 6, 2013 Share #11442 Posted February 6, 2013 Shanghai it is! This is actually the lower end of the famous Bund, looking across the water towards Putung. Totally unrecognizable today! Taken in 1979 with my IIIG. Doug
stuny Posted February 6, 2013 Share #11443 Posted February 6, 2013 Doug - Had you not revealed it was from quite some time ago I'd never have guessed. But with that info I could see a part of the Bund I remember from 1995, if one didn't look across the river. I'll put a new one on the site soon.

Guest suilvenman Posted February 6, 2013 Share #11445 Posted February 6, 2013 Stuart, would this be the temple at the Hanging Perfumed Gardens on the outskirts of Kama Sutra? Ken.
stuny Posted February 6, 2013 Share #11446 Posted February 6, 2013 Ken - An amusing response.
larsv Posted February 6, 2013 Share #11447 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Somewhere in Rajastan. A temple within the city walls, on the street down from a rather large palace which is part museum and part hotel. Actually, two adjacent palaces, one of which is alongside a lake, with a view on a palace in the lake. If you look over the wall enclosing the palace, you look out over the city about 100ft below. If not, I still enjoyed re-visualizing where we had a great time in an amazing society and beautiful and welcoming country. larsv Posted February 6, 2013 Share #11448 Posted February 6, 2013 Or is it the world heritage site just outside New Delhi?
larsv Posted February 6, 2013 Share #11449 Posted February 6, 2013 I think I was looking for Udaipur.
stuny Posted February 6, 2013 Share #11450 Posted February 6, 2013 (edited) Lars - Not Rajasthan, not Delhi, not Udaipur, but you have the correct country. Lars & Ken - Your implications are that this is a Hindu and Jain site, and that is correct. And it is a World Heritage site. Dirk Van der Herten Posted February 7, 2013 Share #11458 Posted February 7, 2013 That was easy, Lars, your church is famous for its yearly performance of the Matthäus Passion. Do you know if there are any tickets left for this year's performance? I'll dig in my shoebox of photos, and post one later.
otto.f Posted February 7, 2013 Share #11459 Posted February 7, 2013 There are a few tickets left for 3rd and 4th rank (whatever that may mean for the sound you hear from these positions, visually it is nowhere perfect in a church) De Nederlandse Bachvereniging
