Thanks. Ok, I'm looking for the city and the location within the city. I've no idea what the statue is called but I'm sure someone will be able to enlighten us.

Thanks! Seems like the game is ping pong today. Can you catch this one? ;)

Having lurked in this thread for quite a while, I finally think that I recognise something :)

I may be completely wrong as my memory is a bit fuzzy as a result of the number of years that have passed since I was there for lunch...

...but unless I am totally mistaken this is the Castle Forest Lodge on the slopes of Mt Kenya in, well, Kenya. The food was nice, I remember.

Online there's info that Princess Elizabeth stayed there as a student. However, when I was there, I was told that she stayed there in 1952 the night before she went to the Treetops hotel where she eventually learnt that her father George VI had passed away. But I don't know if that is true. There is a room that behind a chest of drawers has a secret space in the wall big enough to hide. Supposedly she stayed in that room.

But as I said, I may be completely mistaken.

Wow sweet!

Ok, which city is this? Extra points for the bridge and what happened there at one point.

Cheers

Philip
