Bingo!

The train on the bridge is made by the local train manufacturer Rigas vagonbuves rupnica (RVR, Riga Railcar Factory). It should be easily recognized by the color design. Here is a mobile shot of the train (If I am allowed):

This time : no Frans.
It is neither Beijing nor is it a zoo. Actually it is a good distance away from Beijing, even if you look at it with Chinese eyes.

Here are two other shots taken at the location:

Hi Stu,
no, it's not a lake or any water body that makes this location so unique, it's the rocks, and somehow they are in the name of that area...

Here's another example:

The stone forest near Kunming (Yunnan)?

Yes, that's it!
So over to you.

Stuart,
in 1998/1999 I was working in China, for app. 1 year. I got the opportunity to make some short trips, one brought me to Yunnan province. Unfortunately I never got the chance to visit the Wuxi area (Lake Tai), probably something for the next life...

I had the M6 in China, and used mostly the 2.0/50, Leica's best lens :) (beside the R APO-Makro Elmarit 100)
