vertekijker Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4761 Posted July 20, 2010 Advertisement (gone after registration) Doug, you were closer with the view over the Golfe Juan. It is not only from the east or from the west that you can see the bay... ------------------- Frans

dcoombs Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4762 Posted July 20, 2010 (edited) Okay, could we be looking at the Villa Thuret in the Jardin Thuret just south of Antibes? George Sand apparently stayed there. Doug Edited July 20, 2010 by dcoombs
vertekijker Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4763 Posted July 20, 2010 Yes, we are on the Cap d'Antibes, but it is not the Villa Thuret... -------------- Frans

dcoombs Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4770 Posted July 20, 2010 Could it be the Musee Naval Napoleonien? Doug
vertekijker Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4771 Posted July 20, 2010 Doug, you are working so hard on this one! It is not the Musée Naval Napoléonien. But you are so very close! And you are in the right street as well. If you are facing the Hotel du Cap, then the Musée N. Nap. will be a short distance to your right. You will find the house of our famous person to the left of the hotel - about 100 metres - and on the other side of the street, so that there is a beautiful view of de Golfe Juan (where Napoleon landed when he returned from Elba). But the famous person of 'our' house is not Napoleon, let that be clear. --------------- Frans
ferdinand Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4772 Posted July 20, 2010 Graham Greene?
dcoombs Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4773 Posted July 20, 2010 Well I got the location - 464 Boulevard John F. Kennedy, in Le Cap. One famous person who lived for several years on Cap Eden was Jules Verne, but I can't link him to this house. Doug
vertekijker Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4774 Posted July 20, 2010 Graham Greene? He was a local, but did not live in this house, Ferdinand. ------------------ Frans
vertekijker Posted July 20, 2010 Share #4775 Posted July 20, 2010 Well I got the location - 464 Boulevard John F. Kennedy, in Le Cap. One famous person who lived for several years on Cap Eden was Jules Verne, but I can't link him to this house. Doug Yes! Yes! Yes! Jules Verne is indeed the famous person, Doug. The location is the Cap d' Antibes. I included a picture of the house with its name 'Chênes Verts' and a plaque commemorating its most famous inhabitant. You worked so hard for this!
